1) Where are you located?
Active Wellness is located in a house at 544 Clair Creek Blvd (near Fischer-Hallman and Columbia Street). The house is on the corner on Clair Creek and Bennington Gate- but the driveway/entrance faces Bennington Gate. Follow the sidewalk that is located left of the driveway and follow it around to the back of the house. Go down the stairs and you are there.
2) Why is Active Wellness different than other physiotherapy and wellness centers?
Active Wellness takes time and attention in the treatment of individuals, athletes or people who are interested in keeping a healthy lifestyle. It is for people who want to resolve their injuries quickly and ensure a healthy and safe return to their desired activities. The professional staff at Active Wellness are trained in the treatment of sports and activity-related injuries, wholistic therapies, naturopathy, acupuncture and medical problems. We provide individual current and comprehensive treatment and personal training programs.
3) How do I get an appointment at Active Wellness?
Simply call the clinic at 519-886-5402 and inform the staff of your interests. We will then set up an appointment to look at your specific concerns and conduct and assessment to help you address those issues.
4) Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Often times you do not need a referral for therapy. All therapies are covered by extended health benefits- but you should look at your individual plan in order to see if the specific therapy that you request is covered by your plan.
A doctor’s referral can be used at any clinic regardless of the clinic that they have suggested.
5) If I need an appointment should I go to my family doctor first or just call Active Wellness?
You do not need a referral to consult with the health professionals at Active Wellness, however, we always encourage involving your family doctor. You may call our office directly in order to make an appointment.
Our philosophy is to involve your family doctor in the care of your injury as much as possible.
6) What is the waiting period to get an appointment?
Often clients can be seen within 24-48 hours from the time that they call the clinic.
